Dental Implants
A fixed, natural-feeling replacement for a missing tooth — engineered to look, feel and function like the real thing.
What Is Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a titanium (or zirconia) post placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root, topped with a custom crown. Unlike a bridge or denture, it doesn’t rely on neighbouring teeth — it stands on its own, preserves the jawbone underneath it, and functions like a natural tooth for biting and chewing.
Apurva Dental Care places implant systems from Nobel Biocare and Osstem, planned by our surgical and implantology team — Dr. Vishal Singh and Dr. Aritra Roy — with bone grafting available where jawbone volume needs to be rebuilt first.
- Doesn’t require cutting down healthy neighbouring teeth (unlike a bridge)
- Prevents the jawbone loss that follows tooth loss
- Feels and functions like a natural tooth
- Built to last for decades with proper care
- Available as a single implant, multiple implants, or full-arch (All-on-Four) rehabilitation
Signs You May Need Dental Implants
- One or more missing teeth with adequate (or graftable) jawbone
- Denture wearers wanting a fixed alternative
- Anyone who wants to avoid altering healthy adjacent teeth
- Patients who have completed orthodontic or periodontal treatment
Not sure if this applies to you? A short consultation will confirm — there’s no obligation to proceed.
What Happens, Step by Step
Consultation & 3D Scan
A CBCT scan or OPG maps your jawbone density and the exact implant position needed.
Bone Grafting (if needed)
If bone volume is insufficient, grafting rebuilds the site — this stage needs 3–6 months to heal.
Implant Placement
The titanium implant is placed under local anaesthesia in a precise surgical procedure.
Osseointegration
Over 8–16 weeks, the implant fuses with the surrounding bone to become a stable root.
Crown Placement
A custom zirconia or DMLS crown is fitted on top, matched to your natural tooth shade and bite.
Common Questions About Dental Implants
The placement procedure is done under local anaesthesia and is generally well tolerated. Mild soreness for a few days afterward is normal and managed with standard pain relief.
From consultation to final crown, most cases take 3–6 months, largely due to the time needed for the implant to fuse with the bone. Bone grafting cases take longer.
Bone grafting (using materials such as BioHorizons collagen graft or resorbable membranes) rebuilds the site before or during implant placement.
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, dental implants commonly last 15–25 years or longer — many patients keep them for life.
